J H Payne & Sons Ltd has established itself as a leading Building Contractor within the County of East Sussex. We continue to carry out many varied and interesting projects for a wide range of Clients throughout our region.


The firm was founded in 1968 and quickly became a well-respected local builder. It expanded its market throughout East Sussex and in 1985 the firm was converted into a Private Limited Company. In July 2005, the Company consolidated its divisions to new premises in Bolneys Units, South Road, Hailsham.


With a work force of skilled, experienced and locally employed labour and Management we are geared to carry out the whole range of building projects in excess of £1 million - Contracts within the Public, Private and Industrial sectors; bespoke new housing, extensions and alterations to properties in the domestic market; and carrying out reactive maintenance work for the County Council, Banks and Housing Associations.
